What is CBD oil?

Many patients, however, find themselves wondering what CBD oil is and how is that different from other kinds of cannabis oils available. In recent years, there has been a boom in Medical Marijuana and its extensive health properties including aiding with ailments like Cancer, Epilepsy, Anxiety and other issues.

When approaching the legality of cannabinoid oil, there is plenty of controversy around this topic. In order for it the marijuana oil to be legal in Europe it has to contain a maximum of 0.5% of THC or less, although the sale of THC oil or hash oil in the United States depends on the Marijuana policy enforced throughout the state.

CBD And Hemp Oil

Hemp oil is not the same as weed oil or cannabidiol oil, this kind of oil is derived from Hemp seeds and has a minimum of CBD. On the other hand, pure CBD oil is extracted from marijuana or industrial hemp plants high in CBD and then this CBD tincture is mixed with hempseed or olive oil.

So if you were to ask what is CBD oil, the answer would be an oil free of any THC that has been mixed with hempseed or olive oil to make it more palatable since its original flavor is quite strong and often described as “grassy”, although our CBD cannabinol oil has a liquid consistency and a gentle flavor that is much lighter than others available on the market, without sacrificing its CBD content nor the terpenes and terpenoids it contains.

There are many brands currently producing CBD oils and CBD extracts of different kinds. There are some made specifically to drink, while others are combined with E-Cigarette liquids in order to be vaped. There are crystals of pure CBD with 98.9% CBD extract and CBD-based dabs to smoke and finally, there are topical CBD hemp oils that can be mixed with hemp root extract for pain relief or be pure and concentrated hemp CBD oil.

CBD Oil, Percentages And Concentrations

The CBD cannabis oil usually comes in concentrations starting from 2.5% all the way up to 30% in drops and higher in other presentations like the dabs or concentrates. It is also possible to use these other CBD extracts to make your own hemp CBD oil by adding one part of concentrate with three parts oil to reduce the concentration.

Extracts and tinctures made from cannabidiol oil are very effective for deep muscle pains such as backaches, knee or joint pains and other chronic pains derived from degenerative ailments like multiple sclerosis but are just as effective for topical skin conditions like acne, eczema and other injuries like nicks, cuts or rashes.

Depending on the strength or quality of the CBD oil brands, they may be produced from hemp or medical grade marijuana. CBD oil made from hemp is a bit weaker and may be easier to find in places where legislation does not allow to plant commercial hemp(or marijuana). In places where there is a higher availability of medical grade cannabis, there have even been producers making hash oil based on plants with minimum THC contents.

The medical marijuana market has also extended to seeds and more and more people are planting their own marijuana plants with under 0.2% THC and over 14% CDB to make higher quality tinctures and extracts and be able to provide better quality CBD cannabis oils.

CBD Oil, Health Supplement Not Medication

It is important to point out that CBD tinctures, as well as cannabinoid oils, are not medications. They do not cure Cancer or Epilepsy or any other ailments. CBD oil works on the endocannabinoid system present in human beings and many other mammals. The Endocannabinoid system helps the human body achieve homeostasis (balance) as well as assist the body in self- healing and prevention where required.

Thanks to the effect of the cannabis oil on the endocannabinoid system, the body can then react against ailments like cancer by destroying the cancer cells (when used in conjunction with THC oil) or help prevent epileptic attacks by working with the brain cells that may have been damaged and helping revert this in a natural way which otherwise would require all sorts of prescription opiate-based drugs.

Cbd oil is legal to consume without a prescription in a few countries like Switzerland, Netherlands, Japan and the UK. Within these countries, there are ample networks of distributors and it is possible to find in pharmacies or health stores over the counter without the need for a medical prescription and in different presentations that do not have over .05%THC in Europe. In America meanwhile, states that have legalized marijuana consumption do not have this limitation.

It is also possible to purchase the CBD oil online, although it is recommendable to investigate further into the effects of hemp oil CBD and other kinds of CBD tinctures. Due to federal legislation in the United States, it is not possible to produce Hemp oil, cbd oil or marijuana oil and it is therefore imported from Europe or China, then processed according to FDA regulation to then be able to sell. There are companies that test the CBD hemp oil extracts up to three times before bottling and then again before being sold to the consumer.

While it is commendable that CBD oil brands are so interested in constantly testing their products, this constant action of movement and testing can lead to accelerated degradation and in worst case scenarios, contamination of the oil due to the strain of constantly testing cannabidiol oil in different locations.

For CBD oil in Europe however, thanks to the availability of medical grade marijuana and the possibility to cultivate commercial hemp, CBD oil, cannabis oil and CBD extracts are made under the highest health and quality standards and their purity is one of the reasons that the terpene and other compounds in the CBD oil are much higher and better quality.

Why use CBD oil?

As aforementioned, the uses of CBD oil can vary greatly depending on the person, but for ease of organization, we will divide it into two categories, physical and mental cannabidiol oil uses. Within the reach of the Endocannabinoid system, many ailments can find a cure and the effect of CBD oil can make a huge difference aiding in achieving homeostasis (balance).

Usually, when people use THC oil or smoke marijuana joints, they find themselves full of anxiety and stress, a delirium of persecution is also a common symptom among those that smoke marijuana and some could even argue it is the most annoying negative effect that cannabis has.

Luckily, CBD oil and CBD extract have been the best way to counteract all of those psychological negative effects according to the majority of CBD oil users. Just as the Δ-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol works in two phases; first the THC molecules act, giving the user the “mental” or “high” effect of cannabis. This compound has also been found effective to treat certain cancer tumours (used with CBD oil). As stated by the producers of our CBD hemp oil;

“It may be interesting that the CBD does actually enter an interesting synergy with the psychoactive compounds (this happens, of course, in the case of marijuana, where the psychoactive compounds can actually be found), but its role is… to tame the potential psychotic effect of THC and its counterparts.”

Once the effect of THC has been liberated, the molecule then releases the CBD, which inhibits the mental effects of THC, reducing anxiety and stress while increasing appetite and a physical feeling of well-being, although stronger strains of marijuana like Indica-dominant or “kush” strains are higher in CBD, giving a more physical “stoned” effect.

Among people who smoke cannabis, this would be the part where they’re “giggly” and have the munchies. CBD oil works in a similar way as this part of the molecule, where physical well-being, anti-nausea, appetite inducing and pain relief effects are present, without the “high” that comes from smoking. This means that CBD oil use would not affect;

  • Blood pressure
  • Heart rate
  • Body temperature
  • Glucose levels
  • pH levels
  • Exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide between the lungs and bloodstream
  • Red blood cell volume
  • The time it takes for food to leave the stomach and travel through the intestines
  • Vomiting action
  • Body temperature
  • Potassium and sodium levels

CBD oil is proffered if you are looking for a natural way to achieve balance and then consequently aid with other ailments that are a result of an in-balance in the Endo-cannabinoid system. Although you may be wondering if CBD is only found in cannabis/ marijuana or hemp, you will be surprised to know that it is also present in breast milk, which has the effect of relaxing the baby and inducing hunger.

There is a theory about CBD oil and THC oil known as the “Entourage effect” where using THC and CBD combined with all the other molecules and terpenes naturally occurring in cannabis has proven better health effects, especially in patients with cancer and epilepsy as well as other degenerative ailments, such as;

  • Cancer
    • Alzheimer’s
    • Diabetes
    • Epilepsy
    • Pain (tissue injury, neuropathic)
    • Inflammatory disorders
    • Psychosis
    • Addiction
    • Anxiety
    • Depression
    • Acne
    • Multiple Sclerosis

Among others, although there are no conclusive studies to prove this theory.

Other natural sources of cannabidiol include Hops, Rosemary and Black Truffles, so it might be safe to assume that the giggly feeling of well being after a cold pint could also be an effect of the CBD in it from the hops used to brew the beer.

Why buy our CBD oil?

There are immeasurable amounts of CBD oils and tinctures available all around the Internet, which will affirm in their own right that they are the best or most effective cannabidiol oils. Although most of the CBD oils sold are produced in Europe, depending on where they are commercialized may undergo many different processes and sadly, they also provide half truths on their cbd hemp oils.

CBD hemp oil was subject of a recent investigation carried out in the United States that sought to find out if labels on CBD oils were accurate. Sadly, the results found that most of them were “over labelled”, meaning they were actually higher concentrations than those printed on the bottle.

According to this study;

“As many as 43 percent of the products reported were under labeled (contained higher content of cannabidiol than declared on the packaging), 26 percent were over labelled, and only slightly more than 30 percent of the labels contained factual information (that is, the CBD content fell within the 10 percent margin of error allowed by the US Pharmacopoeia).”

CBD hemp oil, like any other health supplement, has an effect that varies depending on the person, so the same applies to the interaction of CBD with other medicines. As we have emphasized, cannabidiol oil is not a medicine, although it may have some adverse effects when used with other medicines.

As the producers of our CBD oil state:

“Interactions of CBD and certain other medicines are often connected to the cannabidiol’s impact on the very same diseases the drug had been prescribed to heal in the first place – the dose reduction won’t necessarily change the effectiveness of the treatment, as CBD will simply replace the medicine.”

In other words, when using CBD hemp oil against the symptoms of an ailment, it will alleviate said symptoms, but when used along with medicines to combat these symptoms, they will stop but the secondary effects of the medicine will be present still.

Along with the proliferation of cannabidiol oils as a health supplement, there are instances where different conditions such as;

  • Anxiety
  • Diabetes
  • Nicotine addiction
  • Arthritis
  • ADHD
  • Autism
  • Weight Loss
  • Deep Muscle Pain
  • Insomnia
  • Joint Pain
  • Migraines
  • Lung Cancer

Have been found to be significantly aided by the use of CBD hemp oils, although as we have mentioned, the effects vary from person to person and the result of the endocannabinoid balance achieved by the CBD hemp oil in the body will be different from person to person.

Of course, CBD hemp oil is not a substitute for medical treatment and in any case, it is important to consult with a physician (not an online FAQ) when it comes to using cannabis oils or hemp tinctures along with prescription drugs.

To address the issue of Cannabis oils that may have psychoactive effects (but are totally illegal), there are two big exponents; Rick Simpson Oil, also known as RSO that has a combination of THC and CBD that seeks to take advantage of the “Entourage” effect that was prior discussed.

Another Marijuana oil product that may further confuse the consumer is Hash oil, produced from the crystals (or trichomes) found on Marijuana plants, then concentrated and compressed to make a THC-strong oil (over 30% THC content) that has similar properties as the RSO but just like it, happens to be completely illegal in Europe and somewhat legal in the United States of America depending on the cannabis legalization status valid in the state.

All of our pure CBD oil products are made from fibrous cannabis (hemp) that has a percentage of 0.2% THC, therefore legal in Europe and other parts of the world where THC is illegal. It also contains the highest amount of terpenes and terpenoids that lend other beneficial health effects to our CBD hemp oil.

Our CBD hemp oil is good for many ailments but its overall recommended use is as a health supplement, the effects of cbd oil vary from person to person but the benefits of a balanced endocannabinoid system are both physical and psychological as the endocannabinoid system works both in the brain and the lymphatic nodes located in different parts of the body.

 Where does our CBD oil come from?

CBD hemp oil is extracted from the Cannabis Sativa plants bred for their fibres, which has a content of under 0.2% THC per dry mass. This aspect along with the purity and quality of the extraction method allows for microbiologically pure CBD hemp oil that requires no further refinement.

The benefits of working together with hemp farmers and subsequently the laboratories extracting the oil with CO2 supercritical extraction allow for greener, more organic and sustainable production and extraction methods to give our CBD hemp oil the compounds it requires to be a more effective health supplement.

European CO2 Supercritical Extraction, The Purest Choice

The innovations of CO2 supercritical extractions allow our CBD hemp oils and tinctures to be environmentally friendly while maintaining its effectiveness, significantly reducing degradation or contamination in the CBD cannabis oils. This combined with the fact that the hemp is locally sourced also increases the quality of CBD oils and extracts since it requires significantly less handling before it is bottled.

CBD hemp oil has found controversial uses in cats and dogs that have been diagnosed with cancer or other degenerative ailments. Although using CBD oil is safe for humans, just like smoking cannabis, animals have different tolerances to cannabinoids, so for instance animals like cats and dogs could potentially die from being exposed to excessive amounts of marijuana smoke, they also need reduced amounts of CBD proportional to their weight and body size.

Also thanks to the extraction method, our CBD oils are naturally void of any THC content, the already low hemp fibres trace amounts of THC are further reduced to create a CBD hemp oil that is safe for children, elderly or adults to consume and legal where applicable.
